MILLIE & SEBADOH
Hi There!
We adopted Millie just over a year ago from the Brantford S.P.C.A. when she was a 4 month old beauty known as Honey. She is such a sweet, loving, gorgeous do, we can't thank you enough for letting us take her home!
Below is a photo of Millie after she discovered how much fun digging in the mud can be and a photo of Millie and Sebadoh together. Hopefully the four of us can attend the S.P.C.A. BBQ this summer.
Thanks again! Sheila Braam, Adrian Jones, Millie and Sebadoh |

| STORM
We brought Storm home a couple of months ago. She is a wonderful dog and has fit right into our family. She is smart as a whip, very affectionate, and full of personality, she is a beautiful animal.
We live on a small farm and has lots of room to run around chasing our two boys, birds, or whatever else happens across her path. She is a real treasure, I can't understand why anyone
would not have wanted her.
But their loss is our gain, so I would like to thank you.
Storm is a joy to have around (even if she is always under your feet), and we are very glad she's part of our family.

| AS SOON AS I SAW JASMINE I FELL IN LOVE!!!
Jasmine has been part of our family for about one month now, she is wonderful. My husband and I are always saying we could not have asked for a better dog!!
She is so sweet and friendly... the whole family loves her to pieces (even Chelsey the cat who is very particular). She enjoys just being around the family, she sleeps beside our bed every night (in her crate that she loves). Jasmine also enjoys going for walks, she does not pull on her leash at all. She likes going to the kids sporting events and all the attention she receives from everyone there.
Thank you to the staff at the Brantford SPCA who were always friendly and very helpful. OUR FAMILY IS COMPLETE!

| "SHOELESS" JOE JACKSON
We got Shoeless (nee Gabriel) on July 29th, 2003. We had moved in to our new home a year prior and finally got around to putting a fence up. As soon as the last nail was put in I started harassing my fiancee for a dog. We searched high and low for a new dog, at the SPCA of course! I was at work when Andy (my husband) sent me the picture of Shoeless. I instantly fell in love and had to have that dog. How could you not fall in love with those little white eyebrows? We took off to Brantford that weekend in search for Shoeless. When we got there they brought him over to meet us. He came running out of the pen and instantly started chewing on my ankles. I don't even think I saw his face that day because he was too busy running around. I
knew he was crazy enough to be the dog for me. Unfortunately he wasn't allowed in the church so I went to the local Build a Teddy Bear store and had a Border Collie pup made up. Conveniently, the stuffed Border Collie was named Smooless. It was my little
way of having Shoeless in the wedding. me that I love the dog more than him, to which I reply.... ummmmm.... no? Shoeless always has to be in the same room as me. Under my feet when I am washing the dishes, sitting right beside me on the couch and waiting
at the door for me to come home. Not only is he the greatest companion
but my best friend and protector. his kong, playing tag in the backyard, going to visit Grandma and Grandpa on Thursday nights and going for rides in the Jeep with the top down. He also enjoys going to Andy's baseball games where he is a big hit because
he was named after the baseball player Shoeless Joe Jackson.
He has been an amazing addition to our little family. I
would not trade having him for anything in this world. Things
just wouldn't be the same without him!

This success story was written by Chooka's 3 brothers and sister.
(My 3 kids and Lipton the Cat). |
||
| Justin's Story (10 yrs old) I love Chooka! He is so much fun and listens really well. I like to play fetch with him, and he is learning to bring it back and drop the ball. I take him for walks, I ride my scooter and Chooka runs. He always looks like he is smiling and his tail wags all the time. |
Braden's Story (6 yrs old) Chooka is really cool! He doesn't run away and can catch a frisbee when I throw it! I like it when he snuggles with me on my bed. Mom can't get a picture because Chooka always jumps when Mom has the camera. Chooka likes to give kisses when we get home and is always wagging his tail. |
|
| Allison's Story (5 yrs old) I love Chooka lots! All day he kisses, kisses, kisses, kisses, kisses, kisses, kisses my face. When I throw his toys, he runs to get it. Sometimes he slides across the kitchen floor, it is funny! I am glad Chooka is here! |
If Lipton (11 yrs) could talk he would say: that at first he wasn't too sure about Chooka, but now he loves him. They sleep together and Chooka cleans Lipton! |

I am so grateful for having Chooka in my life. No only is he great with the kids, he is an amazing companion! When the kids are in bed, or at their dads, Chooka and I watch movies (he actually watches Shrek 2), go for walks or play in the yard. Chooka still gets car sick, but that doesn't stop him from enjoying the camping trips!
Thank you to the staff at the Brantford SPCA for introducing me and my family to Chooka!

LEONA
the Brantford SPCA. Leona has been the greatest little kitty anyone can have. She is so playful and loves attention. We have come a long way since her first arrival at the house. Leona started off as a shy cat, who wasn't too sure about people. Now, she can't get enough attention by anyone that visits her.
This is Leona's first year going outside to play in the backyard. She loves to chase the bugs and the butterfly's and hides in small trees with hopes of catching
birds. We have bonded very well, and she already has her own pillow on my bed where she sleeps. Leona has a favourite toy which is just a piece
of tinfoil rolled up into hardwood floors so its' perfect for Leona to run and slide when she is chasing this toy, it's rather hilarious.
Leona and I would like to thank the Brantford SPCA for bringing us together.
We have so much fun and look forward to many more years. |

| THE MIDNIGHTER!
Once upon a time there was a sad kitty at the Brantford SPCA named "Brooke".
She was black and white, spayed and declawed. There was another Brooke too (that's me!), looking for just this kind of kitty. It was meant to be!!!
Since having your name called all the time for "no reason" can be confusing for kitties, "Brooke" came to be known as "The Midnighter", (that's Middy for short) and is living happily ever after in her forever home!

| SAMMY
My daughter and I adopted Sammy from the shelter 1.5 months ago. He was 1 of the 4 black male kittens that were approximately 5 months old at the time.
We decided to adopt him because we knew he would not get adopted easily because he was a black cat. It was a tough decision because all the other 3 remaining kittens were wonderful as well.
We have been so happy with him since we adopted him - I have had other cats in the past, but Sammy is the best cat I have EVER had. He is so cuddly, loving and extremely gentle. My daughter is always picking him up and cuddling him or petting him and he has never bitten her, growled or whipped his tail as my other cats would have done, in fact he just lays there and allows her to constantly pick him up and handle him.
The kittens did have a couple colds at the shelter, but since coming to live with us Sammy is in perfect health and has gained 2.5 pounds!
My daughter and I hope that the other brothers have or will be adopted as well, as they have the same loving and gentle disposition as our Sammy. We hope people will look past the colour and see how loving and gentle these cats are.
Thank-you for allowing us to adopt Sammy. Michelle & Rianna Crawford

Adopted on: August 12, 2005 Age: 3 years Adopted Family: Susan Wingert and Leonard Minuk
We wanted to give you an update on Joplyn (now named Daisy). In the two months since we adopted her, she has become the apple of our eyes. We knew she was the right dog for us about thirty seconds after meeting her. It is impossible to resist those big brown eyes and her outgoing and sweet natured little personality.
For the first little while after we brought her home it seemed as if she had forgotten how to be a pet. Daisy would follow us around staring at us until we gave her direction about what she should do. We soon learned that her favourite thing in the world is to sniff (we don’t go for walks – we go for sniffs). As she got settled, her little personality came out more and more. She learned the routine and now is very insistent that we go for our morning and evening walks so she can say hi to all her neighbourhood friends.
We were very proud parents when she graduated with flying colours from beginner’s obedience classes. It helped her
become a better mannered little girl who now thinks that if she sits
pretty she should get a treat. Daisy has also started going to doggie daycare once a week in the country so she can socialize with other dogs since she loves to play (I think she’s going through a second puppyhood). She comes home filthy and exhausted, which are pretty good signs that she had a lot of fun. Daisy under the covers (apparently this is a beagle thing!). She still has some separation anxiety, but is learning to trust that we will always come back for her.
Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who took such good care of her during her six month stay.
We wouldn’t have our sweet girl without all your dedication and hard work! |
