Makes about 25-30 biscuits
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl, set aside. Stir together next 4 ingredients. Add to dry ingredients and mix well. Using a rounded tablespoon of dough, roll into a ball and place on lightly greased baking sheets. Using the back of a fork, press and "X" in the biscuits (just like human peanut butter cookies). Bake until nicely browned and hard to the touch, approximately 20 to 25 minutes. Store in an airtight container in a cool place. |
Makes 12-16 bones, depending on the size of the cookie cutter.
In a large bowl, mix flour, wheat germ, salt, yeast and dry milk. Stir with a fork to combine. Add and cut in the fat and cheese as you would for pie crust. Beat egg and stir into this mixture. Add water, stirring only until you can gather the mixture into a stiff dough. Knead 2-3 minutes, until
smooth, and roll to 1/2" (1.3cm) thickness. Cut with a bone-shaped Bake on greased cookie sheets at 325°F (160°C) for 25 minutes, or until brown.
